How to use Google’s AI Gemini in the Bard chatbot now?

You can try Gemini, Google’s rival to ChatGPT, for free. Accessing it directly in Barda is very easy.

Ahha. Who is this Bard? Bard – an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Google, based on a family of large language models. It was prepared as a reaction to the development of ChatGPT from OpenAI. Finally released in pre-release in March 2023. Well then.

GOOGLE JUST INTRODUCED the Gemini AI model. Want to try it for free? A version of the model called Gemini Pro is now available on the Bard chatbot. Additionally, anyone with a Pixel 8 Pro can use the Gemini version in their AI

Only the Gemini part is currently available. Future releases are expected to include multimodal capabilities, where the chatbot processes multiple forms of input and generates output in a variety of ways. Only a text version has been added to Bard.

Demis Hassabis from Google DeepMind says Gemini is a new type of artificial intelligence. Google’s new AI model, Gemini, went live today on its Bard chatbot. This could contribute to the development of robotics and other projects, says Demis Hassabis, the artificial intelligence director leading the project.

Gemini is also only available in English, although Google plans to offer support for other languages soon. As with previous generative AI updates from Google, Gemini is also not available in the European Union for now.

Despite its premium-sounding name, the Gemini Pro upgrade for Bard is free. With ChatGPT you can also get access to older AI models for free, but you pay a monthly subscription to access the latest model, GPT-4. Details about Gemini’s future plans remain sparse. Google has teased that its improved model, Gemini Ultra, could arrive in 2024 and may initially be available in an improved chatbot called Bard Advanced. No subscription plan has been announced yet, but for comparison, a monthly subscription to ChatGPT Plus with GPT-4 costs $20.

How to access Google Gemini Pro?

Do you already have a Google account? Using Gemini at Bard is as simple as visiting the website in your browser and logging in. Google doesn’t allow access to Bard if you don’t want to create an account. Google Workspace account users may need to switch to a personal email account to try Gemini.

Please note that this is technically an experiment and you may notice some software errors in the chatbot’s responses. One of Bard’s current strengths is its integration with other Google services, if that actually works. For example, tag @Gmail in the prompt to have the chatbot summarize your daily news, or tag @YouTube to explore topics via videos. Our previous testing of the Bard chatbot has shown potential for these integrations, but there are still many kinks to work out.

So what is the difference between the anticipated Gemini Ultra and the currently available Gemini Pro model? According to Google, Ultra is the “most efficient mode” designed to handle complex text, image, audio, video and code tasks. A smaller version of the AI model, adapted to work as part of a smartphone function, is called Gemini Nano and is already available on Pixel 8 Pro for WhatsApp replies.
